The Jeep Liberty retains its 210-hp, 3.7L V6 engine, mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, a package capable of towing up to 5000 pounds. There are three models, the Sport, Renegade and the Limited, which now includes a Jet model with more chrome, 20-inch wheels as well as a 70th anniversary edition that features a hard-drive-based media center, chrome trim and power seats. All are available in rear-wheel or 4-wheel drive. Two 4-wheel drive systems are also available: the standard, part-time Command-Trac or the available full-time Selec-Trac II.
All Liberty models have a raft of safety systems on board like electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, traction control, brake assist and electronic roll mitigation. Hill descent control and start assist, important off-road features, are included on all Libertys.
